Cabins & Layout
The beautiful 26m Nortada liveaboard was completely renovated in 2014 and is ready to welcome small charter groups.
The Nortada dive boat operates in the majestic Galapagos Islands since February 2015. Rolf Wittmer Turismo, which is a well-established company in the cruise and naturalist excursion industries, owns and operates the Nortada. The onboard team has great knowledge of the Galapagos Islands and will surely meet your finest expectations.
The Nortada is a charter, sometimes individually booked, Galapagos liveaboard which is comfortably hosting small groups. While the maximum diving guest number is usually 8, it is possible to extend that number to 12. There are 4 brand new cabins that can accommodate 2 to 3 people. Each has two lower beds and 1 upper berth. There is a private bathroom in every room as well as air-conditioning, lockers and personal storage space.
The indoor social areas consist of an air-conditioned lounge and dining room. Outdoor, you can enjoy the sun deck or the main deck, by the bridge. The best is yet to come: the dive platform!
Scuba Diving onboard Nortada Liveaboard

It is advised to be an Advanced diver or to have equivalent experience. Indeed, the Galapagos can mean a lot of medium to strong currents, reduced visibility and colder waters. The requirements recommended by the Galapagos Sky are that you have : 50-100 logged dives, ability to enter small boats in choppy seas, ability to enter the water by back roll, ability to remove gear underwater, etc. Furthermore, you need to have experience and be comfortable with diving in currents and your buoyancy needs to be at point.

Testimonials & Reviews
Hi! We took a 7 nights trip on the Nortada to go diving around the Galapagos Islands. We, a couple in their 30’s, are advanced divers with about 100 dives each. Diving with the Nortada was great, it’s our first liveaboard experience and we will sure try this formula again. The crew was amazing, very caring and leading us through informative briefings. I assume you know about the diving it self, let me just say that it is just like everybody says: extraordinary! We felt the El nino impact (summer 2016) but still we’ve got plenty of friends in the water. The set up on the boat it great, everything is neat and we particularly fell for the family-like ambiance on-board. We’ve had so much fun and were lucky to get well along with every fellow divers. Also, for those it may concern, I am vegetarian and I’ve had no issues at all. The food was simply amazing, and diverse enough.

The Nortada to the Galapagos Islands
Our trip couldn’t have been better. The crew was genuinely nice and the dive team was brilliant. Seems like they always knew which sites we were better on… we saw so many many marine life! That being said, we missed on THE big one… but everybody else was there from sea lions to turtles and of course, uncountable sharks, including Galapagos and hammerheads. Plus, we greatly enjoy our stay on the boat, as well as the land excursion! The Nortada is a smaller liveaboard and it was great to feel like an extended family sharing a passion leading to great moments. Loved it and would recommend 100%! That’s a once in a lifetime voyage!Jake
